Oriel y Parc yn dathlu bioamrywiaeth gyda #1000 o gardiau post

Ym mis Tachwedd eleni, bydd arddangosfa newydd yn Oriel a Chanolfan Ymwelwyr Oriel y Parc yn Nhyddewi sy’n dathlu’r bioamrywiaeth a ddaw pan fydd tir yn cael ei reoli’n foesegol er budd natur.

Mae prosiect #1000 Cerdyn Post gan Liza Adamczewski wedi’i ysbrydoli gan brofiad yr artist ei hun o ddad-ddofi tir ar ei fferm 60 erw yn Sir Benfro.

Mae trydar cerdyn post yn ddyddiol, ac arno greadur neu blanhigyn y mae Liza wedi’i ganfod ar ei fferm ynghyd â gwybodaeth hawdd ei deall, yn rhan annatod o’r darn hwn o waith.

Ar ôl cael MA o Goleg Celf Brenhinol Llundain, mae Liza wedi mwynhau gyrfa fywiog gyda chomisiynau sy’n cwmpasu’r byd masnachol ac artistig, yn cynnwys Penguin Publishing a The Sunday Times yn ogystal ag arddangosfeydd yn Llundain, Suffolk, Bryste a Chaeredin.

Daeth Liza i Sir Benfro oherwydd ei hangerdd dros gadwraeth. Yr angerdd hwn sy’n sail i’w chasgliad newydd o waith.

Dywedodd Rheolwr Oriel y Parc, Claire Bates: “Mae’r darnau hardd hyn yn ein hatgoffa o ba mor dda mae natur yn ymateb pan gaiff ei chefnogi’n briodol.

“Mae bioamrywiaeth cyfoethog tirwedd Sir Benfro wedi ysbrydoli llawer o artistiaid dros y canrifoedd, a bydd yn fraint cynnal arddangosfa sy’n ein hannog i ddathlu’r natur ar ein carreg drws”.

Bydd #1000 o Gardiau Post yn cael eu harddangos yn Oriel y Parc rhwng mis Tachwedd 2020 a mis Chwefror 2021.

Oriel y Parc celebrates biodiversity with #1000 postcards

November 2020 marks the start of a new exhibition at Oriel y Parc Gallery and Visitor Centre in St Davids, celebrating the biodiversity that comes when land is managed ethically for the benefit of nature.

#1000 Postcards by Liza Adamczewski is inspired by the artist’s own re-wilding of her 60-acre Pembrokeshire farm.

The daily tweet of a postcard, featuring a creature or plant that Liza has found on her farm accompanied by understandable information, forms an integral aspect of this piece of work.

Having gained an MA from London’s Royal College of Art, Liza has enjoyed a buoyant career with commissions spanning the commercial and artistic worlds, including Penguin Publishing and The Sunday Times as well as exhibitions in London, Suffolk, Bristol and Edinburgh.

Liza’s passion for conservation brought her to Pembrokeshire and formed the basis for this new body of work.

Oriel y Parc manager Claire Bates said: “These beautiful pieces are an important reminder of how well nature responds when given appropriate support.

“The rich biodiversity of the Pembrokeshire landscape has provided inspiration for many artists over the centuries, and it will be a privilege to host an exhibition that encourages us to celebrate the nature on our doorstep.”

#1000 Postcards will be on display at Oriel y Parc between November 2020 and February 2021.
