Covid-19 Response: Volunteers Wanted

Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services (PAVS) has passed on the following request for volunteer help…

Volunteering Matters wants to hear from anyone who might be interested in helping with Coronavirus Support Volunteering.

If you would like to get involved with Volunteering Matters’ Covid-19 response work in Pembrokeshire, you can choose any or all of the roles on offer:

  • Running errands and collecting prescriptions – you might use your vehicle for this
  • Telephone befriending
  • Dog-walking
  • Co-ordinating the activities of groups of other volunteers

These are ‘formal’ volunteering roles and you will be asked to complete an application form, including the contact details of two referees, both of whom must have known you for over two years and neither of whom is a family member. DBS checks will be carried out (can be done online) and before you start volunteering you will have to complete a short but comprehensive online training session. Volunteering Matters can cover the cost of mileage should you have to use your own vehicle to volunteer.

If you are interested in finding out more about the role(s) detailed above, please contact Rachel.Evans@volunteeringmatters.org.uk.
