100km Run Raises Money for Hospice Charity

Dan Allerton reaches the finish line

Dan Allerton has completed a run of 100 kilometres – he has raised over £2,500 so far for Paul Sartori Hospice at Home. He was raising the money in memory of Dorothy Raymond – the local charity was able to provide care to enable Dos to spend her final days at home.

Dan started at 5am on 4 August 2021, which would have been Dorothy’s birthday, in Milford Haven, and, along with supporters, ran to St Davids. Paul Sartori posted on its Facebook page his progress to allow supporters to encourage him along the way. They were also there to post a live video of him completing his run at 11pm.

This extraordinary run was completed on one of the hottest days in August; it took Dan past some fabulous scenery along the coastal path as well as through the local towns and villages.

Paul Sartori Foundation would like to thank Dan for this fundraising which will contribute towards the hospice at home service – delivered to adults across Pembrokeshire.

Kitty knows that she will always be an incomer, but this is to be her sixth summers. The wet and grey days of winters have not diminished her love of Pembrokeshire, but she is always grateful for the golden light of spring and summer. Her love of the sea sustains her even through the darkest of days and she can often be found at high tide bobbing about in Fishguard harbour at high tide, often with seals in attendance. When not freezing in water she is usually at her computer. She says" Pembrokeshire.online has been an opportunity to celebrate this beautiful county and its people. Keep the stories coming. We love to hear from you."
