RNLI Needs Fundraisers

We’ve heard a lot since the pandemic hit about a shortage of volunteers. It seems that folks haven’t got back out there into the world in great numbers with time on their hands and a longing to do some good. Many organisations are crying out for help.

One such organisation needing bodies to fill some gaps is the RNLI at various locations across Pembrokeshire, including Angle, Saundersfoot, Pembroke and Little Haven.

If you were thinking  that mercy dashes into howling gales wasn’t your thing, be assured, there is more to be done than manning lifeboats and lifeboat stations. Help is needed in fundraising too as 92% of funding comes from supporters who give time and energy to fundraising.

In 2022 Haven’s breakfast day event which included a raffle, swimming and of course breakfast, raised around £2,000.

Activities like this are essential and the charity is calling for more volunteer fundraisers to step forward. It is keen to point out that the benefits of volunteering are huge, including improving confidence, meeting new lovely people and gaining new skills and experiences. .

The RNLI will provide training and support, along with a warm welcome.

Donations to the charity are also always very welcome.
