David Miller: Beneath the Surface.

I came across David Miller on Facebook and was blown away with his paintings. We had to ask him for an opportunity to introduce him and his work to all our readers.

David’s fascination with fish is obvious and began as a boy. As a young angler, he spent all his spare time close to water. When he wasn’t fishing he was reading about fish or drawing them. The next step had to be snorkelling… he describes entering the world the fish inhabit as swimming into his childhood visions.

These days David enjoys snorkelling and diving in salmon rivers or over Pembrokeshire reefs where so much of his inspiration is born.

Unsurprisingly he has published many articles in angling magazines and in 2008 he published his first book, Beneath The Surface, and his paintings have featured on the Environment Agency rod licence in the UK.

Many of us will have come across more of David’s work at the post office, where ten of his images were used on a specially commissioned set of Royal Mail stamps.

Prices start at £350 for a drawing, £500 for mixed media, £600 for an oil study and £1,650 for a more detailed oil painting.

David has been celebrating 30 years in the business and 20 online this year (2020) and has plans for a blog and an update very soon.
