Great British Home Chorus News

THERESA ARKLE told us about the Great British Home Chorus in 2020. She has now, very kindly, sent us an update...

The Great British Home Chorus was an online choir developed by BBC choirmaster Gareth Malone in the first lockdown.

Members further developed a support network on Facebook called GBHC Friends and from that grew choir subsections in regions.

The GBHCF Wales group have been singing online and holding concerts among themselves on Zoom.

Most recently, four of their members (Ann Gibson, Ceri Jones, Heather Mote and Maria Browne) have written and composed a song of tribute, in memory of Captain Sir Tom Moore, who inspired the nation with his heroic walking, which raised £39 million for the NHS.

The Welsh choristers have recorded the song and intend to send it to Captain Sir Tom’s family to comfort them in their sad loss.

It is also their way of thanking Sir Tom for all he did to raise the spirits of our nation and the NHS.

May he rest in peace.

Kitty has forgotten how long she has been here now but she loves Pembrokeshire for its beauty and it's people. She spends her time searching out stories for pembrokeshire.online, swimming in the sea , drawing and painting as Snorkelfish and eating cake. She says "Pembrokeshire.online has been an opportunity to celebrate this beautiful county and its people. Keep the stories coming. We love to hear from you."
