Help for Families in Despair

We saw this from Homeless Pembrokeshire and wanted to share it. I don’t know about you but I am finding this autumn pretty chilly and, knowing how many people are struggling and will continue to struggle with heating their homes this winter, it is worth considering how any of us can help, not just the person asking below but so many others in need of a bit of generosity. Maybe, if we have a little to spare, instead of buying expensive Christmas gifts, we might consider donations to charities like this one…
Amanda C Evans of Homeless Pembrokeshire writes: “We wondered if the community could help a single-parent family with heating oil who are struggling at the moment.
“Mum wrote: ‘You are probably run off your feet atm, the weather is absolutely dreadful!!! All that is going on and we’ve run out of oil. Is there any way you could help us please as I haven’t got two pennies to rub together, especially now they’ve taken the £80 covid monies off us!!! We’ve been without oil now for nearly a week and desperately need a shower and heating, as freezing at night and 6am.’
“So, Mum was happy for us to share this with you in the hope we could help her. Mum is known to us and we have helped with food parcels previously, but heating oil costs are a little to much for the Homeless Pembrokeshire budget.
“We are reaching out to the wider community – could you help?”
