Winter Fuel Support Scheme

It’s that time of  year, isn’t it? Spring is making an appearance in those welcome green shoots and hints of white and yellow, but the coldest days of winter could still be ahead.

Heating our homes has been a struggle for many, but this year it looks to be a lot harder to keep warm with energy prices going through the roof.

A small glimmer of hope for Pembrokeshire folks who have been hard hit  with fuel bills is the £38 million Winter Fuel Support Scheme.

Those in a household where one person is on a benefit, such as Universal Credit, Working Tax Credit Income Support, Income Based Job Seekers Allowance, or Income Related Employment and Support Allowance, can apply for a £100 payment towards utility bills this winter of 2022.

To qualify you must be responsible for paying the fuel bills in your home and the qualifying benefits must have been being claimed between 1 December 2021 and 31 January 2022.
