Cyfyngiadau newydd ar y gweill ar fynediad i lithrffordd Freshwater East

Ni fydd aelodau o’r cyhoedd yn gallu defnyddio’r llithrffordd yn Freshwater East ar gyfer cychod sy’n cael eu lansio gan gerbyd rhwng 4 Ebrill a 30 Medi 2022, yn dilyn blynyddoedd o bryder cyffredinol ynghylch diogelwch pawb sy’n defnyddio’r dŵr yn yr ardal.

Bydd y rhwystr ar ben y llithrffordd, sy’n eiddo i Awdurdod Parc Cenedlaethol Arfordir Penfro, yn cael ei gloi a dim ond i Glwb Badwyr a Physgotwyr Freshwater East, y gwasanaethau brys, ac ar gyfer gwaith hanfodol fel glanhau’r traeth y bydd mynediad yn cael ei roi.

Dywedodd Prif Weithredwr Awdurdod y Parc Cenedlaethol, Tegryn Jones: “Mae’r newidiadau hyn wedi cael eu gwneud ar ôl ymgynghori â rhanddeiliaid a phryder cyffredinol ymysg trigolion lleol, ymwelwyr a chyrff cyhoeddus, ac maen nhw’n dod yn sgil defnyddio amddiffyniad diogelwch ar y llithrffordd dros y ddau haf prysur diwethaf.

“Mae pob cam wedi cael ei gymryd gyda diogelwch defnyddwyr y traeth mewn golwg ac i sicrhau bod pobl sydd â chychod personol yn defnyddio lleoliadau mwy addas, fel Dyfrffordd Aberdaugleddau.”

Mae’r mynediad i gerddwyr wedi cael ei ledu a’i wella i un ochr o rwystr y llithrffordd er mwyn i’r cyhoedd barhau i ddefnyddio’r llithrffordd ar droed ac ar gyfer lansio cychod bach, fel caiacs, â llaw. Mae lle ar ben y llithrffordd i un cerbyd stopio a dadlwytho. Ar ôl ei ddadlwytho, rhaid i’r cerbyd symud a pharcio yn y maes parcio.

Bydd y rheini sydd ag allweddi yn gallu parcio cerbydau a threlars ar y traeth o hyd, i’r de (dde) o’r llithrffordd tra byddant ar y dŵr yn eu cwch.

New Freshwater East slipway access restrictions set to begin

Members of the public will not be able to use the slipway at Freshwater East for boat launching by vehicle from 4 April to 30 September 2022, following years of widespread concern about safety for all water-users in the area.

The barrier at the top of the slipway, which is owned by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, will be locked and access will only be provided to the Freshwater East Boatmen and Fishermen’s Club, the emergency services, and for essential work such as beach cleaning.

National Park Authority chief executive Tegryn Jones said: “These changes have been made after consultation with stakeholders and widespread concern among locals, visitors and public bodies, and follows the use of a security guard on the slipway over the past two busy summers.

“Each step has been taken with the safety of beach-users in mind and to ensure people with vessels such as personal watercraft use more suitable locations, such as the Milford Haven waterway.”

Pedestrian access has been widened and improved to one side of the slipway barrier so that the public can still make use of the slipway on foot and for hand-launching of small craft such as kayaks. There is space near the top of the slipway for one vehicle to stop and unload. Once unloaded, vehicles must be removed and parked in the car park.

Key-holders will continue to be able to park vehicles and trailers on the beach, to the south (right) of the slipway while they are on the water in their boat/craft.
