April has seen big changes in Crymych. The merger of two schools Ysgol Y Frenni and Ysgol Y Preseli into Ysgol Bro Preseli means the new school will take pupils from ages three to 19.
There is also a new uniform consisting of purple for the youngest, grey for the secondary students and black for the sixth form.
The school has sensitively agreed that while new students will start with the new uniform, existing students have until September 2023 before the change becomes compulsory.
The school’s motto is Cofia Ddysgu Byw (Remember to learn how to live) and it aims to develop pupils’ skills and values in preparation for life beyond the classroom. It promises to do its utmost to give all students every opportunity and guidance.
It says that a main aim is to make learning an exciting and pleasurable experience, with teaching and learning methods actively involving the pupils.
