Unpaid carers in Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion will soon have access to a new regional website which aims to offer them support in their caring roles. The website will launch on Thursday 24 November – which is Carers Rights Day.
An unpaid carer can be a person of any age who regularly gives support to someone who could not manage without help. Being in receipt of carer’s allowance is considered to be unpaid.
The website has been created to provide, information and advice for unpaid carers following a survey created by West Wales Carers Strategy. Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services (PAVS) had a Welsh Government Integrated Care Fund award to develop this bilingual carer resource.
Information about local groups and activities will be found on the website and will include information and support on finance issues, including benefits. It will also include contact information about support groups, both local and national.
For more information, contact info@carerssupportwestwales.org.
