The Great Winter Get Together

The late Jo Cox, during her time as an MP, was touched by hearing of people’s isolation when she was doorknocking in her constituency. She said:: “I will not live in a country where thousands of people are living lonely lives, forgotten by the rest of us.”

The Great Winter Get Together is all about bringing people together. This winter from 16 to 29 January 2023 there are events and activities around the UK where you can make meaningful connections with new people.

There is a website and a Great Get Together map and you can access an organiser pack if you want to start something yourself.

You can register an event  and it will appear on the map. It could be an event organised especially for the Great Winter Get Together fortnight, or it could be an activity that you already run, such as a community walk or coffee club, so long as it’s somewhere that promotes people getting to know each other.
