Warm Space Event and Clothes Swap

St Dogmaels Memorial Hall is home to a warm space event on Saturday 28 January, 10am-1pm – where you will also find the Repair Cafe. Don’t be deterred if you have nothing to be repaired; you will be welcome to just turn up for  a warm drink or soup and a chat.

However, you might want to take advantage of the clothes swap, where unloved Christmas-gifted clothes and accessories or stuff that has been culled from your wardrobe can be brought along and swapped for another item or a token. Three adult or child’s clean items in good condition are welcome per person.

The event organisers say: “If you can’t find someone local to mend your broken items (see our Facebook page for a list of local menders), then bring your item along and our volunteers will try to mend them for you while you have a cuppa. When you arrive you will be asked to complete a form either on your smartphone or we can fill it in for you on paper. We can do basic bike repairs, small electricals, crockery, sewing machines, accessories, clothing tears, toys, model railways… We can’t do clothes alterations, mend white goods, microwaves or safety equipment.

“If you need a lift to get to the Repair Cafe with your item or to use it as a warm space, we now have a volunteer driver who can pick you up and drop you off at home with the minibus, for free. Book this service via stdogmaelsrepaircafe@gmail.com.
