It’s Apple Juicing Time

Community Apple Juicing takes place at the Old School Hall, Moylegrove, on Saturday 16 September, 10am-3pm.
They say this is how it works:
Gather up your apples from your garden, allotment or community project.
Take out any apples that are badly bruised or rotting, as we can’t juice those. You can bring as few or as many apples as you like.
Collect some bottles to take your juice home in. To estimate how many bottles you need, weigh or count the apples. 1kg of apples – about 10 apples – will give you about 0.5 litres of juice.
Come along and join in. We’ll wash, scrat and press your apples and hand you your juice. It costs just 60p per litre.
You can also take the left over “pulp” home too. It’s great on the compost or to feed to animals.
Then what? Cider, vinegar, pasteurised, or good old plain juice. We’ll have guides on what to do with your juice to take home too.
