Dementia Action Week runs from Monday 13 May to Sunday 19 May.

The Azheimer’s Society says: “The aim of our annual campaign is to bring together people from across the country under a unified theme to take action on dementia.

“Keep an eye on the Dementia Action Week webpage to learn about the focus of the campaign for 2024 and help continue to raise awareness for dementia. We will be sharing more resources and plans soon.”

The Alzheimer’s Society Annual Conference will take place on Tuesday 14 May – in person or virtually.

“It will be co-hosted by Angela Rippon and Bill Wilson, both of whom are champions of dementia. Professor Chris Whitty, chief medical officer for England, will deliver a keynote address. The theme of the conference is ‘making dementia a priority for all’.”

The society’s website has a symptoms checklist to use if you’re worried about yourself or someone close to you. Once it’s completed you can show it to a GP or health professional. The checklist can be completed online or printed out and completed offline.
