A Great Night for Story Lovers
Deb and Ailsa on stage at the BtB Storytelling Festival
Great news for lovers of stories. Deb Winter,and Alais Mair Fox have announced a special event on Thursday 23 May at Peppers in Fishguard.
They will present the show they created for the Gwobr Esyllt Harker Award and performed for the Beyond the Border International Storytelling Festival in 2023.
Secrets and Silences, they tell us, happens under a bright full moon as it sails over the forest… “but always there are shadows. Two sisters, separated by a secret.”
The two storytellers take traditional tropes and breathe new life into them in this gripping tale. Deb’s bold inventiveness is in full play as she delves into the darkness of the tunnel; Ailsa’s poetic vision and shamanic characters bring joy, hope and healing.
Here, we are told, are two storytellers unafraid to walk on the wild side, telling their stories with passion, poetry and power.
Deb tells us: “As this has only been performed at BtB Festival and Llangwm Litfest, we were very keen to bring this home to you all, our loyal regular audience here in Fishguard.”
But be warned, the past two events sold out, so you need to book.
