Keen hiker Cyril Phillips, is welcoming walkers to join a modern-day pilgrimage from Carmarthen to St Davids on a walk that follows an ancient 70-mile route.

The pilgrimage, following in the footsteps of saints, will take six days and will stop at holy places on the way, beginning and ending each day with prayers.

The walk will begin on 20 May and end on 25 May – there is no expectation that all of the participants will walk every day.

Much of the journey has been planned to keep away from roads but walkers are advised to come equipped for all kinds of terrain and to bring food.

Beginning at Llangunnor Church after a service conducted by Bishop Dorrien Davies on 20 May, the walk will take in St Clears, Whitland and  Llawhaden over the first three days.

Spittal will be next, then Brawdy, finishing at St Davids on 25 May.
