Narberth Castle Closed for Conservation until August

A  planned conservation programme has begun at Narberth Castle.

The work, involving specialist techniques, is of a delicate nature and will necessitate closure to the public, including the footpath, for about 12 weeks.

Some area were previously closed because of structural concerns that have raised safety issues, but the work is expected to be completed by the end of August, when the site will be open again to the public.

Pembrokeshire County Council says it regrets the inconvenience, particularly at a time when tourism is at its height. It is hoped that the summer weather will allow the necessary preservation work to be undertaken.
