DARC Matters – 15 – Fighting Them on the Beach

Opponents of plans for a US/UK space radar station on the St Davids Peninsula plan to stage a major protest on Newgale beach on Sunday 3 August at 12 noon.

Organisers are asking attendees to bring a small mirror with them – the idea being to send mutliple reflections of the sun upwards to be filmed by a passing drone.

Protest group PARC Against DARC says: “If you’re also not a fan of the Newgale bypass road, why not feel free to consider it a demo against that too while we’re at it.”

The group adds that it wants to “keep reminding the MOD, and the UK and Welsh governments that Pembrokeshire people never forget – and the ridiculous DARC proposal is no exception”.
