Coast Path Challenge

Step up for the 2019 Coastal Path Challenge in aid of Shalom House

Staff and volunteers from Shalom House Palliative Care Centre will be putting their best foot forward on Saturday 22nd June at 10am when they launch the
2019 Pembrokeshire Coastal Path Challenge in aid of Shalom House. Supporters are invited to join them if they can at the Caerfai carpark – to walk a small section of the coastal path.

The launch of the Coastal Path Challenge will mark the opening of registration, whereby willing walkers who want to raise funds for this event, will be able to pledge to walk a section of the total 186 miles of the beautiful and dramatic Pembrokeshire coastline. The event is open until 31st August 2019. The registration fee is £10.00 and walkers will receive a t-shirt and sponsorship pack when signing up.

A Coastal Path map at Shalom House will be used to log the walkers’ pledges. Challenge updates and routes still available for walking, will be posted on the Shalom House Facebook page. Walkers will be invited to share their challenge pictures and stories on Facebook and Instagram.

Sian Ranahan, Fundraiser at Shalom House, says: “We are inviting everybody to get involved in this fantastic challenge event to help Shalom House fund the specialist care that it is able to provide to adults with life limiting illnesses in Pembrokeshire. It’s going to be a great event and the ideal opportunity to support your own health and wellbeing, whilst having lots of fun walking the coastal path with family and friends”.

Shalom House Palliative Care Centre is based in St David’s and offers care and support to adults in Pembrokeshire diagnosed with life limiting illnesses. All services are provided free of charge including transport to and from the centre if needed. With limited NHS funding, it is very dependent upon the generosity of voluntary donations to continue making such a difference to the lives of people in Pembrokeshire.

To register for the event please get in touch on Facebook, email or telephone 01437 721344. If you want to support the event, but are not too keen on doing the walk, supporters can also make an online donation at by clicking the paypal button.
