Eglwyswrw Village Hall.

Yr Hen Ysgol.

Run entirely by volunteers, even the cleaning being undertaken by hall users, the village hall in Eglwyswrw is truly a community centre in every sense! Its committee of 12 meet four times a year and keep each other up to date via email in between and this has worked well since set up in 2018.

The building itself was the school and was bought by the Village Association in 1970s from the county council. A team of just 6 ladies ran the centre for 30 years, but this team has recently grown and have been building on the fund-raising work, which enabled the first renovations in 1998. The committee are alwasy seeking new ways to develop the hall and are currently awaitng the outcome of an ‘Enhancing Pembrokeshire’ grant that would enable a film club and maybe a pop-up cafe to be added to the exisitng groups. Also on the wish list is the re-painting of the old school building.

If you would like to know what is going on in Eglwyswrw then have a look at their facebook page. Regular events include Ysgol Feithrin, Knit and Natter, Heritage Society and quizzes as well as lots of village parties and family bookings.
