Pointz Castle Farm Ice-cream.
Diversification in farming has become an essential means of keeping family farms profitable and many in Pembrokeshire have added extra businesses to their agricultural work. One of the most interesting and unusual is the luxury gelato being made and sold at Pointz Castle farm, right on the Pembrokeshire coast between Newgale and Solva.
Using fresh milk from the grazing cows, Pointz Castle have developed the most delicious ice-cream flavours you could possibly imagine. In between serving a long queue of customers, the team told us that the flavours change frequently and include some very unusual ones.
Just to mention a few :-blueberry panncotta, cherry swirl, guiness, lemon meringue pie, rose, peroni, welsh cake and liquorice!
Not only can you enjoy ice-cream, the little cafe also serves coffee and cakes ;there is outdoor seating too and a children’s play corner in one of the barns. Their vintage ice-cream trailer visits local events and can be hired too – with bespoke flavours, any time and fully staffed!
Only a short walk from the coast path, Pointz Castle is popular with walkers as well as motorists, who can quickly turn in from the main road – not far from the RAF Brawdy junction. Open from 11-5.30 each day and the team can be contacted on 07968 096336.
On Sunday 2nd December there will be a Christmas Fair too.
