Pembrokeshire Village Halls: Lamphey.

Lamphey Bishops Palace

Situated between Tenby and Pembroke, Lamphey is about two miles from the coast. It boasts a Village Hall that was completed in 2007 and  replaced a building built in  the First World War as a medical centre. That original building had been  transported to Lamphey at the end of the war and was erected on land donated by the Matthias Family.

Lamphey Village Hall, consisting of two rooms for hire , has recently been upgraded with new acoustic panels to lower the noise levels and a state-of-the-art sound and PA system. It has a portable stage with a drop down screen , WI FI,  and is heated with a gas fired warm air system

Mike Ridout told that  the Main Hall is the perfect venue for both large and small groups and can seat 120.

“ The Hall is well used by a variety of local groups and hosts, cubs, scouts and brownies, short mat bowls, bridge club, sugar craft classes and a very popular village coffee morning to name but a few. It is in use  every night of the week with regular group bookings. It is also well-used on the weekends with bookings for parties and other individual events.”

“We have recently spent approximately £5,000 on improving the acoustics of the Hall as well as installing a new sound system with cd, radio microphone and Bluetooth facilities, and the Hall Committee continues to work hard to ensure that the hall offers the very best facilities to its users.”

There are  also a  modern well-equipped kitchen with everything you would need to cater for large or small numbers, plenty of parking space, disabled access and toilets, and gas fired heating,

The Hall can be booked for private events, children’s parties, exercise classes etc.  In addition, the meeting room can seat 20 and is available for smaller gatherings.

Mike Ridout told Pembrokeshire online that they  are run by volunteers plus a part-time caretaker.  The Management Committee meets every month and  continues to work hard to ensure that the hall offers the very best facilities to its users.
