Ancient Connections Seeks Artists Interested in Pilgrimage

Do you live in or have connections with Pembrokeshire or County Wexford? Are you interested in pilgrimage, walking, stories, performing and visual arts? This opportunity could be for you!

Ancient Connections is looking for four artists to participate in and respond creatively to an eight-day trans-national pilgrimage linking North Pembrokeshire with North Wexford. Artists engaged with performance are particularly encouraged to apply, e.g. musicians, poets, dancers, visual performance artists.

Led by professional guides on a week-long journey from Ireland to Wales, pilgrims will be staying in a range of accommodation, all expenses paid. The trip will start in Ferns, Ireland, on 30 April 2021 and finish in St Davids, Pembrokeshire, on the 8 May 2021. Artists will also present their work between 28 May and 2 June as part of the St Davids Cathedral Festival. Applicants need to be available for this entire period.

NB This opportunity was previously advertised earlier this year and the event was postponed due to Covid-19. If you previously applied, you must submit another application, as there are some small variations in the new brief.

If you previously applied as a community pilgrim, the community brief will be re-advertised later this year, please do not apply under the artist brief.
