Care Crisis Initiative

We keep hearing about the crisis in social care and in the NHS. Here in Pembrokeshire, Withybush Hospital is having to provide beds and care for  too many patients who are either awaiting assessment or a suitable care package so they can return to their homes. There just isn’t the care available.

Operation Nightingale 23 has been launched and is being delivered by the County Council to help improve the situation and get people out of hospital.

Additional social work capacity will come from existing workers who will be redeployed and other community groups and volunteers. It is hoped that this will mean people can get home more quickly from hospital but with adequate care at home.

If you would like to know more, wish to offer your support and skills to the project, or would like to know more about social care jobs and opportunities across the county, go to  or call 01437 775197.
