£250,000 for Nature Recovery

Awdurdod y Parc Cenedlaethol yn sicrhau cyllid ar gyfer prosiect Cysylltu Natur 25×25

Mae Awdurdod Parc Cenedlaethol Arfordir Penfro yn falch iawn o gyhoeddi ei fod wedi sicrhau cyllid gan y rhaglen Rhwydweithiau Natur ar gyfer ei brosiect Cysylltu Natur 25×25.

Nod y fenter uchelgeisiol hon yw hybu adferiad natur ar draws 25% o ardal ogleddol y Parc Cenedlaethol erbyn 2025. Diolch i grant hael o £244,450 gan Gronfa Dreftadaeth y Loteri Genedlaethol, wedi’i ategu gan £5,000 ychwanegol gan Ymddiriedolaeth Elusennol Arfordir Penfro, bydd y prosiect yn helpu i gysylltu cynefinoedd sy’n gyforiog o rywogaethau â safleoedd a warchodir yn genedlaethol ac yn rhyngwladol, gan feithrin amgylchedd mwy cadarn lle gall bywyd gwyllt ffynnu.

Mae rhan o brosiect Cysylltu Natur 25×25 yn cynnwys adeiladu ar waith presennol Awdurdod y Parc o gefnogi ffermwyr a thyddynwyr sy’n defnyddio technegau ffermio traddodiadol i warchod natur ar eu tir eu hunain ac ar dir comin.

Drwy ddefnyddio technoleg ffensio rhithwir arloesol ochr yn ochr â gwella seilwaith, y gobaith yw y bydd ffermwyr yn gallu gwneud defnydd llawn o’u tir, gan ddefnyddio arferion sy’n ystyriol o natur.

Agwedd bwysig arall ar y prosiect fydd rheoli rhywogaethau estron goresgynnol sy’n bygwth Safleoedd o Ddiddordeb Gwyddonol Arbennig a dyfrffyrdd ar hyd a lled yr ardal.

Mae’r rhywogaethau y disgwylir iddynt elwa o’r prosiect Cysylltu Natur 25×25 yn cynnwys ystlumod trwyn pedol ac ystlumod du, pathewod, llygod medi, brain coesgoch, titw’r helyg, brith y gors a gloÿnnod brith perlog bach, mursennod y de, gwiberod a chennau.

Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority has secured funding from the Nature Networks programme for its Cysylltu Natur 25×25 project. This initiative aims to boost nature recovery across 25 per cent of the northern section of the National Park by 2025. Thanks to a grant of £244,450 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, bolstered by an extra £5,000 from the Pembrokeshire Coast Charitable Trust, the project will help connect species-rich habitats to nationally and internationally protected sites, fostering a more resilient environment in which wildlife can flourish.

Part of the Cysylltu Natur 25×25 project involves building upon the Park Authority’s existing work of supporting farmers and smallholders who use traditional farming techniques to conserve nature on their own land and on commons.

By utilising cutting-edge virtual fencing technology alongside infrastructure improvements, it’s hoped that farmers will be able to make full use of their land employing nature-friendly practices.

Another key aspect will be the control of invasive non-native species that threaten Sites of Special Scientific Interest and waterways.

Species expected to benefit from the project include horseshoe and barbastelle bats, dormice, harvest mice, chough, willow tits, marsh fritillary and small pearl-bordered fritillary butterflies, southern damselflies, adders and lichens.
