Llangwm Lit Fest

Festival-goers
The seventh Llangwm Literary Festival is on 9 to 11 August and its website is full of information for all of us planning to attend. There are talks on subjects ranging from Welsh hill forts to Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, and a creative writing workshop for those looking to write their own book. With foraging, painting, art and crafts, there’s something for everyone.
From directions for newcomers on how to find the once-thriving fishing village of Llangwm to options of places to stay, the organisers have covered everything; and with a fab line-up of speakers and events, year seven looks like it will be an excellent event.

Foraging
The festival site itself is free and Llangwm is a pretty place to explore, but tickets are required for all events unless otherwise shown on the website.
You can park free at Cleddau Reach School and donations are welcomed. Most parking will be on the edge of the village at the school to avoid congestion in the streets of the village.
Organisers warn that Llangwm is not very flat, so if you have mobility issues, please contact them in advance with any questions. They will do their best to ensure that you can access the site on the day. Some parking is available next to the festival venues for people with mobility issues. Much to my delight as a disabled person, the festival is allowing free tickets for all carers. Always good news in my book.

Painting
All tickets for the events are sold through the programme section of the website and also the Hook shop.
Organisers warn that there is limited capacity so you are encouraged to book, as there can be no guarantee that there will be tickets available on the day.
Under-12s must be accompanied at all times on the festival site, including during events. Where a child and an adult are attending an event together, a ticket is required for each unless the event is a children’s event and the adult is supervising the child in which case, they will not need a ticket.
