Learn All about Rock Pools

The Sea Trust in Goodwick has a new website: www.pwllymor.com.

The trust has been engaging with local secondary schools with information on how to conduct rock pool surveys online using the site – a creation of  Dr Jon James who volunteers for the trust.

Pupils have been able to look into rock pools from their classrooms, thanks to the website, and the site is now open to all.

Public information sessions teach how to use the site and how to conduct a survey of one’s own.

The trust says: “We hope this tool will be hugely useful in monitoring the effects on rock pools by things such as climate change. If you’re interested in having a go at a survey yourself, go to www.pwllymor.com. Keep an eye on our website for any changes, as we’re improving and updating this tool all the time.”

Some new videos, filmed in May, have recently been added to help identify different species. The filming took place at  Pwllgwaelod beach.
