Fun Christmas Fair with a Serious Message

Local artist LIZ TOBIN has sent this information about a Christmas fair at Oriel Q in Narberth:

The fair will run from  Saturday 23 December to 11 January from 10am to 4pm, Wednesday to Saturday.

There will be an assortment of artwork, ceramics and gifts created by local artists and which will suit all pockets.

There will also be  a series of postcard-size paintings from all over the world as part of the Gaza 355 exhibition and some of the exhibitors will be donating 60 per cent to Gaza relief.

Liz says: “This is a very impressive achievement from exhibition curator Tamsin Nash. The minimum donation is £10 but please donate what you can and remember all proceeds are going to two charities, the Red Crescent and the Sameer Project.

“Artists are also invited to paint something on a postcard-sized piece of card. These are  available at the gallery but you can use your own. The idea behind it is a very sad story about a Palestinian girl who was shot by Israeli soldiers with 355 bullets. That’s where the  name Gaza 355 comes from for the exhibition. This is an add-on to the main Christmas fair but has raised over £1,000 for the two charities so far.”

The organisers welcome more contributions, and postcards can be collected from Oriel Q or you can just paint on a postcard-size card and post it.
