Name That Chicken

Sweet Home Alpaca has been welcoming 100 rescue chickens to join its alpacas and is asking for a bit of help from us.

It costs £2.75 to rescue each chicken from commercial farms and this doesn’t include the expenses for building a chicken shed or providing their care and food. Sweet Home Alpaca says: “If you’d like to make a donation to help ensure these chickens receive the love and care they deserve, please let us know.”

What’s more if you would like to name a chicken that you’ve donated towards, it says it will be thrilled to tag them with your chosen name: “When we’ve rescued chickens in the past, they often arrive in very poor condition, not even laying eggs due to their past experiences. But with the right love and care, within just six weeks, their feathers grow back, they gain confidence, and they start laying eggs again.
