Petition for Safer Junction at Red Roses

The Red Roses junction on the A477 has been described as ‘frightening’ by users.

Consisting of a 90-degree turn at the bottom of a hill with no slip road, the road has attracted campaigners who have now gathered more than 360 signatures on a petition asking for the junction to be made safer.

The road opened in 2014 and, following numerous incidents, Eglwyscummin Community Council has campaigned ever since for it to be made safer.

Councillor Clive Mitchel, chairman of the council, has declared the junction dangerous, but the council needs 10,000 signatures before 11 August for the situation to be  discussed in the Senedd.

Road users are being urged to sign the petition to put pressure on the Welsh Government to act.
