Small Woods, Big Success

Coed Lleol, or Small Woods, has been celebrating the success of its Pembrokeshire projects.
Officially now ended, the project has been connecting people with nature.
The Small Woods Association, began in 1988 as the national organisation to manage social forestry projects and promote sustainable management of small woodlands. In Wales it has worked since 2010 on health and wellbeing activities with volunteering projects – one- off sessions being the priority in Pembrokeshire.
Its Connecting People, Nature and Place through Skills and Training project has been working with around 500 people. It has created accessible woodland paths and organised 129 community events, exceeding its original targets in Pembrokeshire
Funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF) across South Wales, it has delivered qualifications in both Introduction to Coppicing Level 3 and Maintenance of a Countryside Path.
