Joy is in the Post

“Cwtch Post Box is a heartwarming community initiative designed to spread joy and support to those experiencing isolation – by encouraging young people to send personalised letters to elderly people and address loneliness… to create uplifting messages. The project aims to brighten the days of care home residents as well as those living independently. This simple act of kindness fosters connections within the community and brings smiles to those who need it most.
“Cwtch Post Box project aims to brighten elderly people’s days by reconnecting them with local people through letter writing. We want to revive the excitement of receiving letters, which can be a great pastime and foster new friendships.
“Getting started as a letter writer is easy. You can talk about yourself, your family, your pets, your job, your hobby or even your hopes for the future. We all lead busy lives and there will always be something new to tell your pen pal about. If you need any help to start writing letters, just ask, we will share some tips to get you underway.
“We would love to hear from you if you would like to write letters – as well as those who want to receive letters.
“To find out more: come to the free workshop at the Waldo Lounge, Haverfordwest, where food is available, on Saturday 12 April, 11am-3pm. Bring your little loungers for a fun time writing letters and colouring to brighten up the day for an elderly person in our community. There is a Cwtch Post Box at the Waldo Lounge to post your letters.
