To Dye For

Textile expert Sian Lester is offering  two springtime foraging and botanical dyeing workshops: on 3 April for adults and 15 April for families.

The workshops will take place in the garden room at Newport Memorial Hall, 10am to 4pm.

Sian says: “We will forage for plants, make up dye baths and create a wonderful spectrum of long-lasting hues to encourage deeper, multi-sensory bonds with plants and colour.

“We will talk together about this ancient, season-based craft – the history, the science and alchemical magic – while exploring joyful, biophilic and conscious connections to local ecologies and the land around us.”
