Fishguard Police on the Move

The police could be on the move in Fishguard once the work, approved by the county planners, has been carried out to convert a former carpentry workshop.

The Dyfed-Powys Police application to change the use of Unit 3, Feidr Castell, Fishguard, was supported by consultants Asbri Planning and could soon be the hub for police community support officers who patrol the area.

It has been agreed that a new door along the western elevation and some internal alterations are all that is required to allow this vacant unit to be made use of by the police.

Fishguard and Goodwick Town Council raised objections to the plan, concerned that it would mean the loss of a business amenity. It also felt that the centre of Fishguard was a more appropriate place for the police to have a base.

But the application was conditionally approved.
