Well done Ysgol Bro Gwaun in Fishguard. It has just won the Tasty Careers Schools Challenge award for its macaroni pasta dish which comes in a vegetarian or meat option.
The competition, organised by the National Skills Academy for Food and Drink (NSAFD) Wales, in partnership with the Welsh Government-funded Sgiliau Bwyd a Diod Cymru / Food and Drink Skills Wales programme and Careers Wales, gives pupils a chance to design food products that meet criteria of sustainability and commercially viability and are healthy.
Groups of pupils with ideas such as a super smoothie and a pudding designed to look like Welsh mountains were also in the competition, but “Mac and Caws” from Ysgol Bro Gwaun won the day.
Tasty Careers, which hopes to inspire young people, attracted more than 1,000 entrants this year, the highest number of entrants since it began.
