Goodwick Station Cat

There is not much we know  about the Goodwick Station cat. She died in 1931 and we haven’t  found anyone who remembers her name so far.

However , it is clear that she was much loved  in her life time and was buried at the site of one of the old station sheds where railway men were photographed putting flowers on her grave for some years after her demise. A plaque was also raised in her honour but has since gone missing.

Puss was further remembered in January 2017 by the North Pembs. Transport Forum who unveiled a sculpture of her alongside a new memorial plaque. The sculpture is by local artist Darren Yeadon and is made from Preseli bluestone.

Here Lies The Dear

Old Station Cat

She Killed Some Mice

And Many A Rat.

Her Days Are Gone

She Did Her Best

And Now In Peace

She’s Laid To Rest.
