Future of Fishguard Library

A public meeting for residents to discuss the potential closure of Fishguard Library was attended by around 100 people.
The meaningfulness of current library services libraries was discussed and alternative models were presented.
The discussion raised a number of issues, including volunteer capacity, sustainability of services, book ordering, and the overall quality of provision under any new system.
For those unable to attend the meeting, Pembrokeshire County Council is currently running an online consultation to gather views on the future of Fishguard Library. Residents are encouraged to take part and share their views.
The consultation period closes on Wednesday 20 August.
The survey and more information are on the council’s website at https://www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/pembrokeshire-libraries/fishguard-library.
