Pembrokeshire artist HANNAH PICKERING has written the article below to introduce herself. We will tell you more about Hannah’s work with Pembrokeshire People First in time.
“Hello, I’m Hannah Pickering, I’m born and bred in Cardiff, and proud to be Welsh. As a neurodiverse artist, photographer and poet, I now live and work in Pembrokeshire. I very much prefer the coastal countryside, wildlife and nature. All help inspire my work, which I get to do some of, for a charity, two days a week.
Pembrokeshire People First, is a supportive environment for neurodiverse adults, helping us learn new skills while using what skills we have. I work in their Mor Futures project, doing pottery, paper making, art and craft things, and photography too.
I did a BA creative writing degree at Bath Spa University, and media and film at colleges in Cardiff. Despite this, I’ve struggled getting work, so my current job has been a huge blessing in more ways than one.
I love anything creative and think outside the box, with a different perspective. My line of work helps me express this. I also love using recycled materials in other ways, which are more likely to sustain our world.
I go by Hannah Blossom Art online, and to sell my art and photography I do my own marketing.
I’ve tried doing work for others, hence why my site is currently called this. I plan to change this eventually.
I sell in a few local businesses in Pembrokeshire too as well as online.
