Successful Beach Clean at Amroth
Busnesau a’r Gymuned yn Herio’r Glaw i Lanhau Traeth Llanrath
Er gwaethaf y glaw di-baid, ymunodd 30 o wirfoddolwyr ag Ymddiriedolaeth Elusennol Arfordir Penfro ar draeth Llanrath ddiwedd mis Ionawr ar gyfer sesiwn glanhau traeth lwyddiannus.
Daeth y sesiwn â busnesau lleol ynghyd, gan gynnwys Howies, The Celtic Collection, Andrew Rees Butchers, Monddi, Penfro Consultancy, a’r Cyngor Astudiaethau Maes, ochr yn ochr ag aelodau o’r gymuned leol a staff o Awdurdod Parc Cenedlaethol Arfordir Penfro.
Yn ystod y prynhawn, casglodd y gwirfoddolwyr 12 bag o sbwriel a hen deiar car, gan helpu i gael gwared ar wastraff niweidiol o’r traeth a diogelu bywyd gwyllt lleol a chynefinoedd morol.
“Rydym yn ddiolchgar iawn i bawb a ddaeth allan mewn tywydd mor heriol,” meddai Katie Macro, cyfarwyddwr ymddiriedolaeth Elusennol Arfordir Penfro. “Mae’r brwdfrydedd a’r penderfyniad a ddangoswyd gan y gwirfoddolwyr a’r busnesau yn dangos cymaint y mae pobl yn gwerthfawrogi ein harfordir. Mae pob bag o sbwriel sy’n cael ei dynnu yn gwneud gwahaniaeth gwirioneddol.”
Bydd y sesiwn glanhau traeth nesaf yn cael ei chynnal ddydd Iau 4 Mehefin, ac anogir busnesau lleol, grwpiau cymunedol, a gwirfoddolwyr i gymryd rhan.

Despite persistent rain, 30 volunteers joined Pembrokeshire Coast Charitable Trust at Amroth Beach last month for a successful beach clean.
The clean brought together local businesses including Howies, the Celtic Collection, Andrew Rees Butchers, Monddi, Penfro Consultancy, and the Field Studies Council, alongside members of the local community and staff from Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority.
Over the course of the afternoon, volunteers collected an impressive 12 bags of rubbish and one discarded car tyre, helping to remove harmful waste from the beach and protect local wildlife and marine habitats.
“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who turned out in such challenging weather,” said Katie Macro, charity director at Pembrokeshire Coast Charitable Trust. “The enthusiasm and determination shown by volunteers and businesses really highlights how much people care about our coastline. Every bag of litter removed makes a real difference.”
The next beach clean will take place on Thursday 4 June, and local businesses, community groups, and volunteers are encouraged to get involved.
