Steampunk Back In Tenby

Steampunk has evolved from “science fiction that featured a retro-futuristic concept inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery”. That’s something of how Wikepedia describes it. Basically it’s a vision of a futuristic Victorian-type world reliant upon the power of steam.
If you have read any Jules Verne or HG Wells, you are getting the picture: gorgeous Victorian elegance rushed into a future world. It dates back to the 19th century, was taken up in the 1950s and continued through the written work of Mervyn Peake, Michael Moorcock and many other writers and film-makers to the present day.
Dressing up is a delightful part of the whole idea today, with a fabulous mix of Victorian style adapted to an imagined future.
We are delighted to announce that whether you fancy dressing up and joining in or just going along for the spectacle, Tenby will be glamming it up with the Steam Punk Festival 2026 on the weekend of 20 to 22 March.
