If you let accommodation to guests overnight, you need to be aware of a new law that comes into force on 1 October.

According to the Welsh Revenue Authority, from that date there will be a need to register all visitor accommodation of any kind that is occupied for any length of time by paying guests.

When it is time to register, you will need to provide the following:

  • Contact details, including address of accommodation
  • Type of accommodation
  • Space available
  • When the accommodation is open for bookings

If this applies to you, you will be able to get ready by going to visitinggov.wales/registeryourplace. You can get updates from this site as the process unfolds.
