Red Squirrels Need Your Signature

We have been reading about the predicament of red squirrels. They are in very low numbers across the UK with a few surviving in Scotland and in Anglesey.

These dwindling populations are now seriously threatened by something called squirrelpox, which has very little effect on grey squirrels but is lethal for the reds.

A petition with more than 11,000 signatures was brought before the Senedd a few years ago, asking the Welsh Government to look into squirrelpox vaccine research.

Although there was support expressed for the research at that time, nothing much has happened since and the situation has become desperate for the squirrels.
