Housing Scheme Aims to Help Landlords and Tenants

Leasing Scheme Wales (LSW) is a new scheme funded by the Welsh Government and managed by Pembrokeshire County Council. It will be launched on Tuesday 24 January at the Pembrokeshire Landlords Forum at 6pm in County Hall in Haverfordwest. Doors will be open from 5.30pm and parking is available.

All local private sector landlords are invited to the evening where they will get information about the possibility to lease their property to Pembrokeshire County Council for between five and 20 years. In  return they will receive a guaranteed monthly rental income and full property management service.

The council hopes that the new scheme will improve access to affordable and good-quality homes, and long-term security of accommodation to those who might not be so well off.

The scheme offers better support for tenants and hopes to reduce homelessness, while giving peace of mind to landlords.

The Pembrokeshire Landlords Forum will have guest speakers including Gillian Owens from the Residential Landlords Association, Stuart Macdonald from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, and a representative from Rent Smart Wales.
