Bathing Waters Get Health Check

It’s back in the sea for me… increasingly aware of the worries many people have about polluted waters.
Natural Resources Wales (NRW) has begun taking water sample to help ensure bathing is going to be safe around our Welsh coast.
A total of 110 designated bathing sites, including inland lake Llyn Padarn, are to be sampled a number of times between now and 30 September 30, in accordance with UK bathing water regulations.
All samples are being tested for levels of E coli and intestinal enterococci at the NRW’s laboratory in Swansea.
It says 2023 testing revealed that 98 per cent of Wales’s designated bathing waters met environmental standards. Out of 109 tested, 89 were deemed excellent.
