The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has announced that a Pembrokeshire garden has won a major regional award.
In a public vote, Dyffryn Fernant Garden has come out on top as the best “feelgood” garden in the South West and Wales.
Michael Dunn, head gardener at Dyffryn Fernant, said he was delighted and thanked all those who voted for it: “The peace, calm and tranquillity of this place is very often mentioned by people in our visitor book. The garden is really allowed to breathe and I think that encourages visitors to stop, pause, relax and breathe themselves.”
Season tickets for regular visitors to the gardens will remain at £29 per person in the future season, but after many years of the one-off entry price being maintained, this will have to increase to £10.
The garden has announced another prize draw for a free winter stay in its Y Bwthyn Bach holiday cottage (up to one week in December, January or February). Donate £20 or more within the next three weeks to the garden fund to be in with a chance to win. The prize draw will take place on 3 December.
