Wanted: Poems of Hope
Journeying, the non-profit organisation organising small group pilgrim holidays, has announced its fifth annual poetry competition. It’s asking for poems inspired by the competition theme: Hope.
It says: “Poems should be original and unpublished and reach us by email attachment,before midnight (GMT) on Saturday 15 November. The email address: info@journeying.co.uk.
“Poems may be of any length. Just one entry per person. There is no charge. Copyright remains with the author. The winning poet will receive £100. The winning poem will be announced on 15 December.”
The judges:
David Arkell teaches music at Sherborne Girls’ School in Dorset. His collection of poetry, Divine Loves, is available from Journeying and other booksellers.
The Rev Gill Page is a member of the Journeying team, with a love of poetry.
Journeying’s pilgrim holidays have “an informal Christian ambience” and visit “the more off-the-beaten-track parts of Britain and Ireland… prayer, refection and poetry provide the rhythm around which we journey.”
