If You Need Support on Blue Monday…

Blue Monday is reckoned to be the lowest point of the year.

There seems to be not too much convincing scientific evidence for that, but this part of January does appear to be a dark and depressing time for many people.

If you are finding life challenging just now, we have gathered together a few places to contact if you are feeling the need for some emotional support:

The Samaritans are available on 116 123 or email jo@samaritans.org – free and available 24 hours a day.

Papyrus is a UK charity for the prevention of young suicide. It has a confidential service called HOPELINE247. It is available by calling 0800 068 4141, texting 07860039967 or emailing pat@papyrus-uk.org.

CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably)runs a UK helpline on 0800 58 58 58 and webchat from 5pm to midnight, 365 days a year for anyone considering suicide; https://www.thecalmzone.net/.

PANDAS (0808 1961 776) is an organisation for anyone suffering with perinatal mental illness, or their families.https://pandasfoundation.org.uk/.

Childline (0800 1111) is a free confidential service  for children and young people.https://www.childline.org.uk/.

Mind (0300 123 3393) offers advice and support for those experiencing mental health problems.https://www.mind.org.uk/.

Students Against Depression has a website for depressed students: https://www.studentsagainstdepression.org/.
