Good News for Endangered Bats

Vincent Wildlife Trust has had planning permission approved to erect a five-metre-high bat roost tower at Llwyngoras, Felindre Farchog. The tower will help support a declining bat population.

The organisers have announced that the site will be controlled, as the bats must live undisturbed, in keeping with the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.

Concerns have been raised that different species of bats in the same area can have a negative effect on the colonies, but plans for the creation of the tower will be a positive move, according to the Vincent Wildlife Trust

Funding has been arranged through the Nature Networks Programme, which is  administered by the Heritage Fund on behalf of the Welsh Government.  It is partnered with Natural Resources Wales.
