Rolf Hind at Rhosygilwen

Rhosygilwen welcomes, for the first time, internationally respected pianist Rolf Hind on 11 April.

It says: ”Known for the clarity and thoughtfulness of his interpretations, Hind brings a distinctive and carefully curated programme that explores the meeting point of folk tradition and classical form. This recital stands out for its imaginative connections, placing Nordic, English and Central European voices side by side to reveal shared roots and contrasting musical landscapes.

“The evening opens with music by Edvard Grieg, including Myllarguten’s Wedding March and Goblins’ Bridal Procession, alongside Rotnams-Knut: Halling. From Percy Grainger come Knight and Shepherd and Colonial Song. Hind then turns to the introspective world of In the Mists by Leoš Janáček.

“After the interval, Grainger’s folk-inspired works return, followed by Grieg’s Lyric Pieces, before the recital concludes with the rhythmic vitality of Béla Bartók’s Romanian Dances.”
